Hi all,

As a new user to iRealty I have some suggestions regarding future development of the solution.  They go with my own business plan but I believe they would be great assets for the program. Here they are:

In my point of view the listing should :
  • be automaticaly deactivated upon expiration
  • but still be visible in the user's "My listings" view, with a message that says: deactivated

And the user (client) should:
  • be notified automaticaly by email when his plan is about to expire, and then again when it actualy is expired
  • be able to reactivate his listing trought the "My Listings" view by clicking on an re-activate link. Then of course he'd have to go trought the whole payment process again.
  • be able to choose between different plans when adding a listing - Meaning the priceplan choice needs to come after adding a listing, before the payment process; instead of on user account registration.

And eventally (but this is for later):

  • the admin should be able to add a "Sold" banner to an existing listing, and reactivate it so it stays published as a witness of the site's effficiency.
  • and some kind of mass mailing protocol should be put inplace, so the admin can send users special reports, or inform them of special priceplans, etc.

I guess that's anout all... For now  Wink

Dear Yves,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Let me go through your requests step-by-step:

The listings are automatically deactivated upon expiration, but the admin may also delete the expired listings with the assistance of the cron job. And the listings are shown as deactivated with a link to activate them again from "My Listings" dialog.

We do not expire the membership plans, instead, we expire listings. If a user has reached a max number of ads per membership plan, he or she has to delete some of the old ads to replace with the new. Here the admin has to carefully balance the flexibility of the membership plans with lots of listings vs the hosting space, but the latter is rarely a problem now. It's all a matter of policy rather than the iRealty capabilities.

We'll probably change the membership plan/registration/listing activation sequence in the upcoming releases. And, of course, the mailing protocol is definitely something we'll add soon.

Thank you for your time,

Sergei
