Hi,

In France the "States" sounds like that :

Pays de la Loire
Poitou-Charentes
Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
Rhône-Alpes
Guadeloupe
...

It's a problem with the seo generated url :

Browse Homes by State  / Provence-Alpes-Côte d\'Azur
http://www.exemple.com/browse_homes_by_state/Provence-Alpes-C%C3%B4te+d'Azur/

How can I clean this string to remove quote and accent in the URL ?

Thanks for your help, and sorry for my english ...

Guillaume

Hello,

Good question.

The problem is that iRealty uses state name, passed via browsed urls, as a value for filtering listings. So if we change the state caption (remove quotes and accent or anything else) in the url, the system will search listings with the modified state, and find nothing.

So if you need to remove any characters from url, you'll need to remove it from the sate caption.

We will probably enhance this in future by adding additional parameter for list values, such as "seo friendly id". So users could set up seo friendly names of the states (or other list values) manually. For example, in your case state value would be "Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur", and seo friendly id: "Provence-Alpes-Cote-dAzur", and browsing url would be: /browse_homes_by_state/Provence-Alpes-Cote-dAzur/. So system will use seo friendly id to find out which state to use for listings filter.
What do you think, would this feature be usefull? You can write you suggestions here, in this forum.

hello Guillaume ,
It hard to say when we'll make that.
Our next release will include multilanguage and should be ready in March. After that we'll start planning functions for the new release. And I'll certainly pass this feature to our developers. And only after they estimate the date of the next release, I can say when this feature be ready.
